President Yoweri Museveni has  received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Mr. Michael Spindelegger who called on him at State House Nakasero. Mr. Spindelegger was accompanied by the Austrian envoy to Uganda based in Nairobi Ambassador Roland Hauser. President Museveni informed his guests that Northern Uganda and the whole region is today peaceful and formerly displaced people are now being resettled. The President called on the government of Austria to extend more development programmes to the area especially in the sectors of infrastructure, safe water and sanitation among others.
President Museveni further asked the visiting Austrian Foreign Minister to invite Austrian entrepreneurs to come and invest in processing Industry as Uganda produces a variety of products that are exported in a raw form.

The Austrian Foreign Minister and his delegation commended the Presidents efforts in ensuring that Uganda remains a peaceful country. He also confirmed continued Austrian government’s support and co-operation with the government of Uganda.

Mr. Spindelegger has been in the country to evaluate the progress of projects in Uganda funded by Austrian government.
